SWIM ENGLAND LEVEL ONE SWIMMING ASSISTANT

Overview:
If your a keen swimmer with passion to become a swimming teacher, then the Swim England Level One Swimming Assistant course is for you. This course is the gateway into a career in aquatics and will give you the knowledge you’ll need to start your journey in becoming a Swim Teacher.
Delivery and Assessment:
Assessment is through a mixture of practical and theory assessments over the duration of the course. Your assessor will be the tutor who delivers the course to you, they will set you tasks during the week, and you will be expected to complete them. This course is not graded, learners will either meet the requirements and pass or will not meet the requirements and be referred.
Progression
Progression would be to the complete Swim England Level 2 Swimming Teacher course.

SWIM ENGLAND LEVEL TWO SWIMMING TEACHER

You must hold a ASA/Swim England Level 1 Swimming Assistant (Teaching) qualification.
Overview:
The Level 2 Swimming Teacher course is essential for anyone wanting to seek employment in being a Swim Teacher. This course is a practical qualification using your skills learnt from Level one to help develop the knowledge you’ve already gained.
Delivery and Assessment:
The assessment is made up of six key parts which are; theoretical questions, lesson plans, lesson overview, observation record, evaluation and action plan. There is no end of course exam, but tasks will be set by the tutor which are mandatory in completion to be able to pass the course.
Progression:
Holding a Swim England Level 2 Swimming Teacher qualification means you are eligible to seek employment across England and in many countries abroad.
You may also want to develop your skills further by taking CPD workshops (continuous professional development)

SWIM ENGLAND TEACHING PRESCHOOL SWIMMING
You must be at least 16 years old.

RLSS NATIONAL POOL LIFEGUARD QUALIFICATION (NPLQ)
You must be at least 18 years old.

Jump/dive into deep water
Swim 50 metres in less than 60 seconds
Swim 100 metres continuously on front and back in deep water
Tread water for 30 seconds
Surface dive to the floor of the pool
Climb out unaided without ladder/steps and where the pool design permits
